The Science Advisory Committee provides scientific and technical guidance to the Whitefish lake Institute (WLI). Guidance focuses on the WLI’s efforts to conduct research that results in important data for resource management decision makers in the Whitefish Lake watershed and beyond. Since its founding in 2005, the Whitefish Lake Institute has continuously worked to enhance data collection, scientific research, and the communication of research results on Whitefish Lake and its tributaries. WLI also partners with Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks, the Flathead Basin Commission, and other agencies to engage citizen scientists in the collection of limnological data and in monitoring for the presence of Aquatic Invasive Species.
